john.kipling@gmail.comOh hai. My name is Ed. Well, it's not my real name, but, then again, that's not my real weight on my driver's license. Welcome to my blog or to the place where I ramble on and on about things. I'm a pretty big nerd, so, well, there - you've been warned.
That's me above. Up a tree no less. I grew up in Northern California and spent a good portion of my youth among the branches. I wouldn't describe myself as a tree hugger per se, but some of my best friends have been trees. Anyway, it was fun to climb a tree again. I'm thinking of doing it again. It's not a midlife crisis. I just forgot how much fun it was to climb a tree.
(And I make no apologies for the hole in the knee of my jeans. Most of my jeans have that hole. I don't know where it comes from, but I didn't intentionally put it there. And 80s Metal Bands had nothing to do with it.)
If you have no idea who I am and you are wondering why I am watching your blog, it is simply because I found you interesting and wanted to know more about you. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail if you have the desire to get rid of me. I'm harmless. Just watching from the wings, but not lurking from the shadows.
About my jobs: I have a couple. First and foremost, I am writer. I write comic books, short stories, screenplays, and bad novels that I don't show anyone. I also work as a Certified Public Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and, yes, a majority of my clients are... well... for lack of a better word - dead. I talk about my clients in vague ramblings, but due to professional ethics, I usually will not answer specific questions. (To protect identities and such.)
Although I appreciate any attempts made to save my eternal soul, I think just about everyone agrees that I am pretty much beyond that. At work, I deal with some very nice people who have, for lack of a better term, a bad reputation. But it just so happens that I would with some very terrible people who have wonderful reputations. I am a C.P.A. and it's not really my place to judge.
I have two beautiful children and a fiancee who is the love of my life. I'll admit that I am something of a jinx-a-phobe right now and I'm reluctant to talk about too many details. This stems from my belief that "somehow" by writing about my personal life that I will "somehow" mess it up and I really don't want to do that because, well, I am very freakin' happy right now.
And I don't have a web pages, soooooo... here are the web comics I read on a daily basis. (You know, for those days that I travel and I am away from my bookmarks....)
